Zero In On – AToZ Challenge 2014 – Day26

Hi Folks,

CHAPTER 26

#AtoZChallenge - Idioms - @Sri_Indrasenan

A Guessing Game!

Somehow with Pooja’s tactful help and Keshav’s wedding planner friend John, Laya and Keshav had a big fat Indian wedding. Although Keshav wanted a beach wedding he compromised with Laya’s idea of having a palace wedding in Jaipur and then go on for a beach honeymoon in Goa. The highlight to the whole wedding was the wedding cake that was designed in the shape of a revolver clutched within stethoscope which Pooja has ordered and customized for the couple.

On their honeymoon night,

“Honey, I really have only 2 days for honeymoon? I am the unluckiest man in the world.”

“Blame your police department for not granting you leave.”

“Important case and the worst is they did grant me 5 days vacation but you used it all in your wedding and left me with a meager honeymoon.”

Laya rolled her eyes and said, “Oh, I was wrong? Wedding comes only once.”

“So are nuptial nights so let’s zero in on improving the country rather than arguing with me!” he said as he nibbled her ear lobes.

“Improving the country?” she asked with a puzzled look.

“Yeah, let’s improve the country’s already improving population.”

A Guessing Game!

Within a week they were engaged and the wedding date was fixed.

“Damn, Damn. I have just 2 months.”

“2 long months babe before you are mine” said Keshav with a puppy face.

“Keshav, I have lots of shopping to do and above all the wedding planning”

“Relax, I don’t mind marrying you in your sweatpants and tank top.”

“Argghh, I mind. I want the best wedding ever.”

Laya’s mom smiled and said to Keshav, “Her shopping mania was a yoke around my neck, now it is all yours!”

“Where is Pooja? Haven’t seen her for quite sometime” asked Keshav to no one in particular.

X-Rated – AToZ Challenge 2014 – Day24

Hi Folks,

CHAPTER 24

#AtoZChallenge - Idioms - @Sri_Indrasenan

A Guessing Game!

That evening they went for a family outing at the Azuri Bay. The breath taking ambiance, the longing for each other’s touch, the happiness of being sure of the wedding, and other unexplainable feelings aroused Keshav and Laya both mentally and sexually.

They sneaked out of the hotel for a walk in the beach and gradually what started as holding hands became a kiss. One thing leads to another and they ended up to a near-smooch phenomenon. Their bliss was broken when they heard faint whistle sounds and they saw a couple of cops approaching them.

As soon as they saw Keshav, they saluted and said, “Sir”

He smiled with half blushes and half embarrassment and moved away with Laya.

As they left one of the cops said, “I thought we will get some good collection.”

“Yeah, even I thought so.”

“At least we saw some X-Rated scenes.”

“Yeah, Handsome cop kissing a sexy lady.”

Miles away in her house Pooja frantically dialed some numbers on her cell phone and said, “I need revolver as soon as possible. Don’t delay.”

A Guessing Game!

“Damn, you are so bad” she whispered.

“Really, princess?”

“You didn’t tell me before!”

“Tell what?”

“That you are called as Sanjay in your household”, she said with raised eyebrows.

“Those gloomy eyes lights up when I surprise don’t they?”

“What is it with the specs? You were specs?”

“Nah, just to give a nerdy look to my mother-in-law”

“I want to hug you.”

“I am all yours.”

Amidst all these whispers they heard the happy chatters of their respective moms.

“I am walking on air, Mr. Police”

“So do I, Ms. Doc”

“How she accepted?”

“Ha, Ha. I was showing your FB profile pictures to mom and there was this one particular picture of you with your mom.”

“Hmmm”

“Well, that was all I did. Rest was the magic of their friendship.”

“We are blessed, aren’t we?”

Volte Face – AToZ Challenge 2014 – Day22

Hi Folks,

CHAPTER 22

#AtoZChallenge - Idioms - @Sri_Indrasenan

A Guessing Game!

Laya started to make all the permutations and combinations of the ways in which she can marry Keshav. None of them made as much sense as eloping did! She was however reluctant and afraid. However, she felt she had to make a decision quick. Eloping is the most probable solution but then wouldn’t it create mental anxiety to her mother? After all, she is all her mother has. Her mother didn’t remarry or involve with any other affair for sake of growing her up.

The Sunday morning sun smiled at her face and little did she know that the Kalpana aunty and her son were waiting in the hallway for her arrival. She reluctantly got up from bed and her mother was already standing next to her. “Get ready! Kalpana and Sanjay are here.”

“What?” she screamed. This was too quick than she anticipated.

She had no choice. She decided to face the music for being such a jerk and confused girl.

As she entered the hall she was puzzled by the volte-face of her mom sitting with a handsome, nerdy, bespectacled guy. She gazed at him for an extra moment and she said, “Sanjay!”

He got up from the couch and came close to her, “Hello, Ms. Laya”.

Her heart raced seeing this guy, he was not hot but he was handsome and elegant looking.

Hi Folks,

CHAPTER 21

#AtoZChallenge - Idioms - @Sri_Indrasenan

A Guessing Game!

Laya was totally disturbed and couldn’t concentrate on anything. Keshav was a drug, when he was near she was too high and her senses worked brilliantly now that he is away she was yearning for him to comeback.

Pooja asked her, “Hey, are you alright?”

“I am so disturbed and confused.”

“Why are you confused?”

“This new lady and her son Sanjay are bothering my thoughts and to make it worse Keshav being away for so long. All these make me worry.”

“We will definitely find a way out of this mess.”

“My future with Keshav is still up in the air”.

“Hmmm”

“Shall I elope with him?”

Hi Folks,

CHAPTER 20

#AtoZChallenge - Idioms - @Sri_Indrasenan

A Guessing Game!

She paused and asked her mom, “Mom, what is all this?”

“Shhh” she said to her daughter and turned to her friend and said, “She is just shy.”

She went to her room and tried calling Keshav, he didn’t attend her call however he returned back her call in a while.

“Hey what’s up babe?”

Laya hesitated a little at the starting but somehow she ranted the whole thing within minutes.

“Relax, they can’t force you to get married. Also, they are just making wedding talks and not engagement.”

“I feel like as if tables are turned. I thought at least for a year mom won’t see any suitors but now there is a lady sitting in my hallway and addressing me as daughter in law.”

“Who knows she could be your future mother in law! You wanted your mother’s approval nah, see she has found and approved some guy for you now!” he said sarcastically.

“Please, I told I want both of you not just her.”

Scare The Daylights Out Of Someone – AToZ Challenge 2014 – Day19

Hi Folks,

CHAPTER 19

#AtoZChallenge - Idioms - @Sri_Indrasenan

A Guessing Game!

Next few days went without much chaos and Keshav was busy with an out station case that he was travelling to and fro Vellore and Chennai often. Laya was also busy with her patients and apart from occasional calls and messages there was not much communication between them.

That evening when Laya came to her house her mother was sitting with another lady of her same age. They seemed to be absolutely enjoying and laughing out loud. It has been really long that she had seen her mom this happy.

“Hey mom”

“Laya, sit down. Do you remember Kalpana Aunty? I used to tell you often about.”

“Yes, your best friend from school.”

“This is Kalpana” she pointed the 50 something charismatic lady who was looking charming in her black cotton saree.

“Hello Aunty, mom talks a lot about you” Laya said.

“Hope all those talks are positive and good.”

Laya smiled and said, “of course”

As Laya was about to leave to her room Kalpana said something to her mom which scared the daylights out of her.

Kalpana said, “I should be lucky to have such a good looking, well mannered, and educated girl as my daughter in law.”

Ride With The Tide – AToZ Challenge 2014 – Day18

Hi Folks,

CHAPTER 18

#AtoZChallenge - Idioms - @Sri_Indrasenan

A Guessing Game!

“What is her problem with Police, Laya?”

“My dad was a policeman and he died in service.”

“That happens every other day! Everyone dies someday or other.”

“She feels that it isn’t a safe job.”

“What is a safe job then? Sitting in home? Even then the guy may die of heart attack.”

“Chill please be calm. She is the only one I have. We need to convince her!”

“Here I am trying my best to service the public and the public see us as some aliens. Great, let  me be a bachelor forever.”

“Keshav, this is nothing new. We already were expecting this reply nah?”

“So?”

“We should learn to ride with the tide!

“That means you won’t marry me without your mom’s permission?”

“Hmmm”

“Good. Fine” he scorned.

Laya moved closed to him and kissed him on his neck. He giggled.

“What?”

“You are short Laya. Even while standing on your heels you get to kiss only my neck”

“I am not short, you are too tall”

“Oh really?”

He lifted her and her lips were exactly on his; he whispered without moving his lips from hers

“What if your mom says a NO, no matter what?”

“Please, that doesn’t mean I will marry someone else. We will wait for her acceptance. I hope we will get some new ideas”

Quake Into One’s Boots – AToZ Challenge 2014 – Day17

Hi Folks,

CHAPTER 17

#AtoZChallenge - Idioms - @Sri_Indrasenan

A Guessing Game!

After 2 days, Pooja gave a simple yet brilliant idea of taking Keshav to meet Laya’s mom since that was the only possible and probable way of making her understand that he is the right suitor for Laya.

As they reached Laya’s house they quaked into their boots. It has never happened before, but how could this have ever happened none of them loved before and none of them even thought situation like this would arise.

Somehow they subtly introduced Keshav and they left him with Laya’s mom to talk.

“So, what do you do?”

“I am trying my best to keep your doctor daughter happy.”

“Don’t act smart, I am the mother not the naïve daughter. What do you do for earning?”

“Hmmm. I errr”

“Jobless? Only you guys get time to woe and ogle at the girls.”

“Police”

“What?”

“I am the Deputy Commissioner of Police”

“I request you to please leave our house.”

Pick Someone’s Brains – AToZ Challenge 2014 – Day16

Hi Folks,

CHAPTER 16

Almost a month passed by, still Laya was confused on how to open this up to her mother.

“Have you spoken to her, Laya?”

“No, did you speak to your parents?”

“You first speak then I will.”

“Hmmm. We are of same community, shouldn’t be a problem I guess.”

“Speak to her, baby.”

“But how”

“I am not an expert in this; I am the rough Policeman you see. My way of talking is too different”

“Keshaaavvv”

Keshav has already excelled the art of understanding the various modulations in which she calls his name and the current one meant, “Do something, else I will kill you.”

“Laya, I am not urging you but your mom is searching grooms for you. We should tell her before she ends up finding one.”

“Hmmm”

“If she finds one, then we need to explain it to the guy and his family also.”

“What shall I do?”

“Don’t pick my brain; I don’t seem to have one. Why don’t you try picking Pooja’s brains for a change?”

One Night Stand – AToZ Challenge 2014 – Day15

Hi Folks,

CHAPTER 15

#AtoZChallenge - Idioms - @Sri_Indrasenan

A Guessing Game!

Time flew by; two hours went off like two minutes. Laya and Keshav cuddled up in a cozy quilt that was spread on the beach. Laya rubbed her palms and placed them on her cheek. “Do you want to go inside?” asked Keshav.

“Inside, where?”

“I have a room booked for the night.”

“Hmmm” she hesitated.

As they entered the room which was even more sensually decorated with purple and black curtains and scented with a mix of peppermint and lavender room freshener, Laya hugged Keshav.

His lips were on hers and they never knew who initiated the first kiss! He or She? How does it even matter now? Time flew by and what started as a peck on the lip became a full-fledged exploring of each other’s mouths. There was an obvious sexual urgency in them. Laya started unbuttoning Keshav’s shirt. “Ouch, your revolver” she said. He laughed and moved a little from her. As he placed the revolver on the table nearby he asked, “Are you sure? You want to do this?”

“Hmmm, I think so.”

“We are not some teenagers Laya who get desperate and end up having sex right on the first day of proposing to each other.”

“Yeah” she said. How men can ever talk sensibly even when they are turned on, she thought.

“I don’t want to have one night stand or a fling. Call me old fashioned, but when I make love to you I want should be sure that you are my wife.”

She loved him; yes she indeed loved him now. The love for him multiplied steadily. “Are you not sure now?”

Woman – although they love their men and trust them, they will ask silly questions an untimely hours, don’t they?

“Laya, it is not that! Let’s talk to our parents, get engaged.”

“Oh, I feel like the man here.”

He buttoned up his shirt back and they spent the night by watching movies and sipping wine!

“I am on cloud nine” she said.

Neck & Neck – AToZ Challenge 2014 – Day14

Hi Folks,

CHAPTER 14

#AtoZChallenge - Idioms - @Sri_Indrasenan

A Guessing Game!

As Keshav gave the revolver to Pooja, he went on his knees and pulled out a bunch of lavender orchids and said, “Marry me, Laya”.

Laya was perplexed and stupefied; she gazed around to see that the private beach was illuminated with candles and a lovely dinner table was set up. She couldn’t react; the light from the purple candle holders illuminated her face which was already turning red because of blushing.

She choked in happiness, it is a once in lifetime opportunity to choke in happiness! She stammered as she said, “Kee-shhavv”. She moved forward and hugged him, yeah it was an awkward hug (not the pretty ones that are shown between the lead characters in the movies) but it was so truthful and realistic.

“Is it a yes?” asked Keshav.

“Should I say?”

“Laya, say it please!”

“You never said it!”

“I proposed you now! Can’t you see it woman?”

“But those three words?” she rolled her eyes.

“Damn, you both are neck and neck in pulling each other’s legs. I love you both, there I said it” said Pooja.

“You both were busy with this?” Laya questioned.

“Indeed yes. Your DCP is pathetic in romance. I made all these decorations myself by sitting in his home and I also mentioned it to him about your dream date, dream proposal, favorite flowers, and even helped him in picking a proper shirt. Offo”

“Pooja you are a sweetheart”.

They smiled and Pooja bid them a bye along with a big hug as she left.

Mad As Cut Snake – AToZ Challenge 2014 – Day13

Hi Folks,

CHAPTER 13

#AtoZChallenge - Idioms - @Sri_Indrasenan

A Guessing Game!

One more day had passed in a similar fashion. Laya was still confused and she hesitantly dialed Keshav’s number,

“Are you there?”

“Yeah, I am in middle of an investigation.”

“Can we meet tonight? Maybe, a night out at your place?”

“Err No, I am busy.”

She acknowledged and disconnected the call. Surprisingly, Pooja called her for a girls’ night out and she graciously accepted.

Instead of going to her place, Pooja took her to a private beach in the outskirts of the city. Laya questioned, “What are you up to? Why are we here? Where are the other girls?”

Pooja gave an evil grin, “Wait.”

“Pooja, I am scared. Let’s go back. I thought other girls will also be here.”

Pooja gagged Laya’s mouth, tied her hands and blindfolded her. Laya struggled to release herself however, she was unsuccessful. After few minutes, her ties were removed. She saw Keshav and Pooja in front of her

“Keshav, go on”.

“Pooja, do you think I should?”

“Come on”

Keshav stuffed his revolver in Pooja’s hand and Laya was as mad as cut snake on seeing this.
