Styling A Vidya Balan Saree – ft. Sareez.com

Hi, Folks,

This was one fun post I loved working on. Yes, it’s not everyday I get to wear a saree and style it to perfection. However, from now on, you will find me in at least one ethnic outfit per month.

Well, coming to the post, I adored the saree that Vidya Balan wore to Koffee With Karan. She is known to wear sarees that are quite bold and beautiful. I am not a big fan of her, but I am a big fan of any good fashion, and this black saree with gold jewellery is classic fashion.

How To Style A Saree? #Sareez.com

Hi, Folks,

Saree is the best Indian outfit. Yeah, Salwars may come, Lehangas may go, but Saree goes on forever (pun not intended). I personally love Sarees; although I don’t wear them often, I love the times that I wear them. This outfit can be a bridesmaid outfit, sister-of-the-groom/bride outfit, or a simple wedding guest outfit.

For The Chaotic Yet Beautiful Woman in You – Long Skirt OOTD – Jabong-W

Hi, gorgeous people,

Recently, I have been obsessed with skirts, especially the long and full-flared ones. My sister and I found something today about styling skirts. We found that Midi or Just Below Knee Length skirts suited her a lot, but not me. However, long skirts adored my body better than it did on her. After gazing at mirror for a lot of time, we found that women with longer midriffs can sport full length skirts better, while petite women can rock in midis. Don’t believe me? See this!

BOLD GOLD AND LOVELY BLUE – ETHNIC #10 – BEING A WEDDING GUEST #3

Hi, gorgeous people,

How many of you know my fascination and craziness for blue color? Yay! I love blue. So, a blue kanchivaram saree is like an icing on the cake. My amma passed on a blue light weight silk saree to me as she thought it would look good on me. A small secret here: all my mom’s sarees are mine as both of my sisters seldom wear sarees! 😛 So moving on to the look, ta-da!

Subtly Pink – ETHNIC #9 – BEING A WEDDING GUEST #2 – 2Looks 1Outfit

Hi, Gorgeous People,

As most of you might now, I am going through a rough phase in my life. I don’t like sharing much of those personal details on my blog as I feel sad things neither sell, nor make things better by sharing on a public forum. However, just telling you beloved readers about my mind state makes it a little better for me because I know that my genuine blog readers do love me. Anyway off to the topic, I am trying to erase most of the images from my laptop and phone as the memory gets full just by these photos. So to make a memory of everything, I wanted to blog about them and store the blog backup instead of mere images. One such image is from last year.

Bold Gold and Subtle Dark Green Salwar Suit – Ethnic #8 – Being A Wedding Guest #1

Hi, gorgeous people,

Exactly after I came from my vacation, my best friend’s brother got engaged. Well, I had to attend it. I keep attending so many weddings that most of my acquaintances and colleagues ask me, “how many best friends do you have?” Well, quite a handful. That keeps me more than occupied. As it was not my friend’s but her brother’s engagement, I wanted to look gorgeous yet subtly. I didn’t want to be the center of attraction by being over dressed, but I can’t afford to go under dressed. After so many calls, whatsapp pings, and rants with her, I was still clueless. She got a nice silk saree for herself to wear 😛 That’s when mom came to my rescue with this long-last-yet-still-new salwar of mine.

Yay.... that's me! (new hair cut? Detailed post coming soon)

Mom’s B’Day OOTD & iTokri Shopping experience – Website Review #1 – Ethnic #7

Hi, gorgeous people,

It’s my sweetheart’s b’day today. Yeah, my beautiful angel turned sweet 66, can yoi believe it? Well, I couldn’t. She does chores promptly and with interest like a 10-year-old, cracks jokes like a 16-year old, looks like a 40-year-old. Well, that’s what makes her 66, I guess. Well, I can keep appreciating the beauty she is, but let’s move on to the post. What I wore on her B’day?

Saree On A Sangeet Night – WEDDING DIARIES – BEING A BRIDESMAID #3 (ETHNIC LOOK #6)

Hi, gorgeous people,

After S’s wedding, it was her cousin and my close friend Kay’s wedding. While S was this playful, selfie-crazy, fun bride, Kay was organized, conscious, and matured bride. I loved them both equally. Now, dressing up for Kay’s wedding was quite easier for me as I was dressing up in my home. Also, Kay needed not much help or running around so that gave me so much time to concentrate on my looks. Anyway, here is what I wore on her Sangeet.

A Colorful Silk Saree For A Bright Morning Wedding – WEDDING DIARIES – BEING A BRIDESMAID #2 (ETHNIC LOOK #5)

Hi, gorgeous people,

Most of you would have seen my “Lehanga-Choli” look for S’s reception, if not, then see it here, right away. While I went completely northie for her reception, I opted a nice Kanchivaram Silk Saree for her wedding. It was nice, sunny morning wedding, so I preferred to go bright with the colors. Here is what I wore:

LEHANGA CHOLI – WEDDING DIARIES – BEING A BRIDESMAID #1 (ETHNIC LOOK #4)

Hi, gorgeous people,

So, yeah. Looks like I should start the wedding diaries too. Inspired from Bhusha’s Wedding OOTDs, I start with the wedding diaries. I have been a wedding guest in many occasions, but this was the first time I was a bridesmaid. Yeah, being a bridesmaid is a tough yet pretty job I tell you. When my bestie Swe decided to get hitched, we were all like “WOW, we are gonna be bridesmaids.” However, little did we know that being a bridesmaid is not just about being pretty. If I had to list my experiences of being a bridesmaid, that would take another whole post (psst! Will write one sooner). That being said, are you guys eager to see what I wore for the reception of her wedding? Take a look! Continue reading

Ethnic Look #4: Style a Kanchivaram Saree

Hi, Gorgeous People.

This is a long pending post. Yes, this was the time around September when I experimented with my sister’s old Kanchivaram Silk saree for Ganesh Chathurthi at home. Mostly, it is an unwritten fact that silk sarees give you a matured look and traditional look. I wanted to look ethnic in silk saree at the same time have a style of my own, so here is what I experimented.

Ethnic Look #3 – Churidhar

Hi Gorgeous People!

Not fully back to daily blogging yet. However, I hope to be back soon with a big bang. As of now, I am writing a post now and then, whenever possible, so bear with me. Today’s OOTD is simple and elegant ethnic look with a churidhar. I hope you will find it interesting.

Churidhars are something that is considered to be the most comfortable yet traditional wear in India. I am no exception to the other Indian women that I also have a variety of churidhars. When I posted this particular picture as FB DP, my friends felt this was too perfect and I need to blog about it. So, here it goes. Surprisingly, I have done ZERO make-up (yeah, not even moisturizer or lip balm) – I know it’s not advisable to step out without sunscreen, et.al. but I took the risk since I felt to sport zero make-up that day. 10418218_896368527046634_6533519196372100246_n Continue reading

Ethnic Look #2 – Cotton Kurta & Leggings!

Hi Gorgeous People!!

Here is the second entry to my StyleBook and yet again with an Ethnic Look. Recently I visited this excellent tourist resort called Dakshin Chitra, near MGM in ECR, Chennai. Since it was a long drive from home and also because it was an ethnic village resort I chose to go desi with Kurta and leggings. The whole outfit is simple and just not more than anything necessary. Here is a brief about the Outfit of the Day (OOTD) and please do share your thoughts on it.

Here is a look at the outfit, footwear, bindi, and earrings!
