Back to School OOTD – ft. M&S

Hi, folks,

This weekend has been crazy; with so many back to back photoshoots for my blog, I am now exhausted. However, on the positive side, I will be writing and sharing a lot of blog posts with you in the forthcoming days.

Coming to this post, recently I had a chance to visit the Forum Vijaya Mall, this was my first shopping experience in this mall. When I used to be in Bangalore, I loved the Spar/Auchan store. It was convenient and affordable. When I entered this mall, I was happy to see Spar, and I immediately entered there. After shopping a few basics there, my next halt was at Marks & Spencers.

Generally, I would prefer Lifestyle, Westside, or Max, but this time I thought why not try M&S for a change.

Before giving you a sneak peek of what I got from M&S, let me share my shopping experience with you. I am person who gets easily hungry when I am out there shopping and trying various clothes. It would be annoying for me if I have to go to food court, eat, and then again come back. One thing I noticed about this mall is that there are 2 restaurants on each floor, if I am not wrong. I headed to McD for a quick bite and even grabbed Donuts on the way back to shop more.

Coming back to the OOTD, I wanted to go and buy a good ethnic outfit for Diwali, and the decor in the mall was indeed appealing to make me opt for the ethnic outfits. However, I thought why not I buy an Indo-ethnic top that goes well with both jeans and skirts.

Well, this is my complete OOTD.Simple, classy, elegant – yet makes an style statement, isn’t it? I love the feeling when strangers walk up to you to ask where did you get this dress, accessory, or shoes from. In that aspect, this outfit grabbed a lot of attention. When I got my top from M&S, I wasn’t planning to wear it to my French school. However, the top fit me perfectly, and I wanted to wear it immediately.

Let’s see what are the various dress pieces I have worn to style this outfit.

As you can see, I have paired a bodycon tee-shirt/top that I recently purchased from Marks & Spencers, Forum Vijaya Mall, with my favorite pair of Pepe Jeans and a overlarge cardigan.

Why I chose this maroon bodycon top?

I am neither a red nor a maroon person. However, since I saw Deepika wear that maroon top in Agar Tum Saath Ho, I was kinda obsessed with that color. She pulled that oversized, maroon top with grace even in such a sad moment where the song comes. I prefer my tops to be body hugging and to show my curves, which the one I got in M&S did. This top was the closest I could find to Deepika’s Tamasha Top.

An interesting thing about this top is that, it has zips near the sleeves, so that you can open and close it to get a formal vs. flared look. Interesting, isn’t it?

Why I chose to sport a long cardigan?

If you have been following Bollywood fashion recently, this cardigan is the most trending unisex fashion. In fact, my sister gifted me this stating she loved this kind of cardigans which Ranbir was wearing in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil trailers. From Ranbir to Fawad, Alia to Aishwarya, people have been spotted in overlarge cardigans recently. This goes well for both back to school and airport fashion.

Why I chose this jeans?

One word – Comfortable to the core!

As for the make-up, I have kept it to zero! Yes, no makeup! Back to school and airport outfits always needs no makeup or minimal ones.

Since the dress is doing the talking, I haven’t put a lot of accessories, but I have just put on my favorite pair of blue faded ballerinas that goes pretty well with the whole outfit.

What do you think of this outfit? Like it? Share it across!
