Book on the review table today is:
Stri’s Take On It: My first thought was that the book is a thriller, but in real the book is multi-layered. Of late, intertwined plots seem to be in fashion, and this book is one such genre. The book has romance, espionage, history, mythology, drama, and even social issues. The book is actually about an island Sarpameru, which is created out of mythical powers of the sage Kshiprajyoti. After a few pages, it moves into a life of three women, who strive to resolve various social issues. Finally, there is some espionage stuff that is another aspect by itself. If you are in for a book that goes deep and multi-layered then you would enjoy it else, you may feel “WTF?”
- The writing style is pretty good. If a person is writing in multiple genres, the first I expect is how they express those well in a single story.
- Overall, the story was a roller-coaster ride, and that’s how I prefer a thriller novel to be.
- At places, I feel the author struggles to not disclose much, yet disclose, thus ending up in killing the momentum of the book by confusing the readers.
Do I recommend? You will either love this book or hate it. So, read the book blurb & reviews and decide for yourself before picking it up.
Final Verdict: If you like deep, multi-layered stories then give it a read.
